Summary/Abstract: The article makes an attempt to give the theoretical analysis of intelligentsia formation process in one of the Russian regions. Emphasized is the need of taking into consideration various factors as well as inter-ethnic aspect of a problem for such an analysis. Shown is the indisputable richness of the Russian intellectual and art culture on the material of one region. On the basis of studying the historical past, the author comes to the optimistic conclusion concerning the steadily progressive character of the creative process development.
