Summary/Abstract: A person is always a “prisoner” of his own history and that of the world he lives in. Petro Marko, in his Intervistë me vetveten, an autobiography, tries to free himself from personal memories, offering them to the world on his condition: according to his very personal point of view of committed intellectual and honest person. The inner journey comes out through e formal conception of the work in questions and answers between Petro Marko and himself. In this sense Marko’s autobiography it is not a mere process of writing, but a person’s call to examine the inextinguishable source of existence, from the very beginning until it crosses with the destiny of the whole humanity. This crossing over causes the eternal question about the sense of one’s existence in this world, especially the existence of someone who is born to be an intellectual. Marko, in his autobiography is continuously engaged in asking and answering about his role in the society, revealing the importance of the intellectual’s role especially in times of cruel regimes, when thought, about all, is put under control.
