Summary/Abstract: The paper analyses different theories on language learning through the perspective of the first language one learns – the native language. Researchers have highlighted different aspects that are relevant for language learning, thus proposing contrasting theories on the aspect of foreign language learning. From Skinner to Chomsky, the papers analyses these theories and tries to shed light on the complex problem of native versus foreign language learning.
