Summary/Abstract: The paper presents various aspects of the use of multi criteria analysis in the selection of investment project variant (type of object, technology of works), with particular emphasis on the objects in the field of transport infrastructure (roads, bridges, viaducts, airports, etc.). It has been shown that by analyzing different (alternative) variants for the construction, multi criteria optimization method appropriate to the form of expression of the decision maker’s preferences should be used. The multi criteria optimal selection procedure has been discussed and examples of methods that could be used were provided – both for the analysis of variants for building of a new facility, as well as situations where – after the destruction (damage) of an object – there is a need to quickly bring it to its use in crisis conditions.
