Summary/Abstract: Information on cases of corruption in many areas of social life (political, economic) appear in the media every day, even we are bombarded with them. The mass media are so-called leaders in publicizing and highlighting this type of news. A recipient reviewing daily newspapers, watching TV or surfing the Internet almost everywhere finds the publications of corruption in Poland and abroad. The commonness of issue leads to the reflection on its phenomenon. As the consequence the question arises about customers attitude towards information on the phenomenon of corruption. To find the answer to that question is to search in the same mass media or carry out research in this direction. Both tasks were done. Therefore, the article presents an analysis of the survey conducted with the main aim of finding out the opinion of the phenomenon of corruption, which was formed as a result of receiving the information provided by the broadly understood mass media. The research group consisted of Border Guard officers who were in the Border Guard Training Centre in Kętrzyn on training in the field of non-commissioned officers school, warrant officers school, officers course, as well as the staff of Border Guard Training Centre. The study was conducted in September 2012. The answers are presented in the form of tables or graphs and analysed. In addition, the article attempts to compare selected answers provided by officers with similar research conducted by the Centre for Public Opinion Research in May 2010.
