Summary/Abstract: The short biography of Piotr Gonciaruk (Petre Petrescu) shows that the Soviet authorities managed to impose in Bucharest a person who can send to Moscow essential data about the Romanian espionage and counter espionage system. The same person was able to actively participate in the adoption of decisions about the control and guidance from outside of the Romanian intelligence services and the Communist authorities from Bucharest had known since 1944 about Piotr Gonciaruk’s contacts with the GRU officers who arrived in Romania.
