Selected Sources Related to Poland in the Collections of the Library of Congress

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to discuss the selected written and non-written documents related to Poland, available in the Library of Congress. The documents that are fully or partially digitized and presented on the website of the Library of Congress have been chosen. The following polonica are characterized: “Polish Declarations of Admiration and Friendship for the United States”, “Ledger listing in handwriting persons registered at the Polish consulate in Shanghai, 1934–1941…, and also Polish address and telephone books, as well as examples of “independent publications”, i.e. newsletters, magazines, declarations, newspapers, books and leaflets published in the country in the years 1976–1990. In addition, a few publications written and published by the library are described. The article ends with a summary and conclusions.
