Summary/Abstract: The article is addressed to the issue of the role and sources of market information in current business conditions. In particular, efforts have been made to identify the object of their interest, scope and frequency of obtaining market information, its sources and usefulness in management of marketing enterprise. The division of the information on secondary and primary one, as well as its generic classification has been used in the analysis. The investigated enterprises have conducted the evaluation of their market information system. The article presents the results of own direct survey that has been undertaken on a sample of 63 Polish small and medium enterprises.
