Summary/Abstract: One of the most intriguing moments in the history of the use of protective arms in the Byzantine army is the message of the Emperor Constantine Porphyrogenitus in his treatise "On the ceremonies of the Byzantine court". The study was conducted with the purpose of attribution of protective arms λωρικια and determine its species.
