Summary/Abstract: The State its organisation, goals and attitude towards society are the fundamental categories determining the ways of solving major national problems and creating visions for the future. Aiming at the reconstruction of the independent State became a subject of interest for politicians and ideologists from the Peasant Movement. Witos political thought reflected the desire to establish a state system, which is an emanation of efforts mainly peasants – and more broadly the working classes of the Polish nation, combined with best-understood interests of the state. Poland was for them the supreme value. In the hierarchy of tasks and objectives Witos always put the good of the state, but a democratic state in which the nation finds any basis for its development. Democracy of countries had to guarantee democratic institutions, free elections, local government and a wide catalog of rights and freedoms.
