Summary/Abstract: Artistic landscape has meant an artifact being associated with cultural values, in the eighteenth century in Europe, especially in England, the idea of landscape has been associated with the artistic field, turning into inspiration for painting. In particular, the Dutch school of painting was distinguished by realistic landscapes, while historical paintings of imaginary landscapes history translates as idealized pastoral scenes. The genre of landscape paintings gained independence in the Renaissance period, this principals were reinterpreted in the Baroque era. Starting from the early forms of social life, man thought and realized various forms of expressing ideas inspired from the environment, the cycle of nature and the lives of individuals or groups. In this study we will see the main artistic movements of the landscape gender that developed in the Romanian territories with the purpose of reveling a permanent artistic connection between artistic Europe and our territories. From the Renaissance when the gender gained its independence, to the multiple movements of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, the genre of landscape painting evolved capturing nature in its various aspects, with its own metamorphosis and different interpretations. Throughout this time, being connected to the international artistic movements, demonstrated in this study by reviling the main stylistic features of the evolution in landscape painting from Romanian territories.
