Summary/Abstract: The article presents the biblical concepts of the human being, made in God’s image and likenessand created of the clay of the ground. Theory of double creation of man, proposed by Philo ofAlexandria (an heavenly man and a earthly man) found continuation in teaching of Clement of Alexandria.Differing from Justin Martyr that he did not interest in that topic, Protrepticus’s authorinterestingly describes the human being as micros kósmos that has a soul and a body and his relationshipsto macrocosms. Man is the beautiful instrument, fulfilled by spirit in the image of Logos– Instrument. Clement emphasizing God’s plans regarding existence of the human being, developsPhilo’s theory of the double creation of man. Logos is the Maker not only of the human person,but also of the whole world. Origen’s Mater referring to anthropogenesis of the Book of Genesisalso shows idea of the human being as the alive statue made according to image of the DivineStatue. Clement of Alexandria’s anthropology is continued and developed by the a ancient Christianthinkers that they provide knowledge of the human being as Logos’ icon, having the iconic nature.Iconanthroplogy – doctrine of anthropology of icon presents the ancient teaching of theChristian thinkers that underline the dignity of man as Logos’ image.
