Summary/Abstract: The Romanian modernism is a very complex literary and cultural movement that marked the better part of the 20th century. This study is an analysis of the current through a triple perspective: its influence in the re-definition of the very notion of literary history, its chronological aspect and the great literary and cultural figures that marked its existence. Throughout this study we will make often connections with the European and universal modernism and their various forms of manifestation and we will also compare the chronologies of them. Ultimately, this study is an incursion in the ways the modernism shaped the Romanian literary history as well as in the ways the Romanian literary history shaped modernism as a literary current.
