Summary/Abstract: The volume ŗPoemsŗ by Octavian Paler illustrates a wide range of topics, however, the most relevant of which being that of time, presented in different ways: time as fountain, time as waterfall, time as river. According to the authorřs confessions, in his case, ontological space is actually identical with a mythological time. His personal Romania is not a place but rather an interval of time during which he performs a range of activities, all of which summed up in a biography, in an autobiographical pact, nevertheless it is a pact that is inexistent without a historical or moral pact.
