Summary/Abstract: Ion Heliade Rădulescu was considered an outstanding personality in the Romanian culture from the first half of the 19th century. He was concerned about developing the Romanian literary language and all his linguistic activity contributed to cultivating a language that could be used in different domains of activity. His second period of linguistic research was led by the Italian influence with the purpose to create a new language by replacing Romanian words with Italian ones.
