Summary/Abstract: Like Maiorescu, Ibrãileanu, Dobrogeanu- Gherea, Panu etc, Septimius Bucur expresses his views on the work of Caragiale. His study has from the outset tempting polemics. It rejects the assertion of Cãlinescu after the playwright's world of Cațavencu would be grown "in sympathy clean comedy and not in criticalŗ.The truth, as far as Caragiale is concerned, obviously belongs to Septimiu Bucur, and the criticřs view on the writerřs political ideals is very modern. Septimiu's arguments are unbeatable. Septimius Bucur discusses problems of stabilizing the equality between Eminescuřs position and that of Caragiale. Some say that they were both the most brilliant exponents of social revolt against the injustice of the bourgeois-landlord. Bucur does not agree with this equality.
