Summary/Abstract: During 63 years in the Archive of Bosnia and Herzegovina 135 professional archivists ware employed by that institution, and some of them spent there entire working lives. Some among them possessed professional knowledge and work commitment that made a great contribution to the development of the entire Bosnian archive service. Archivists arranged and processed hundreds of archive founds and thus enable the archival material stored in the Archive of Bosnia and Herzegovina so it can be used in scientific and other purposes. Never, in any period, were they adequately rewarded. Archive of Bosnia and Herzegovina is located at four locations in nonpurpose facilities and the professional activities, both on the arrangement and the issuance of the use of archival materials and finding a variety of data requests by citizens, are often physically very demanding. In the Archive has never been enough physical laborers, there fore sometimes very physically demanding and dirty work was done (and still is) by archival technicians and archivists. When materials ware dislocated and transferred from one depot to another, they worked without any protection and compensation.
