Summary/Abstract: The article presents two concepts related to positive social phenomena. The first, sociological, is the one of positive deviance forged by Jerzy Kwaśniewski. The second, developed on philosophical grounds, under the aretaic turn approach, is the one of virtue by Alasdair MacIntyre. We analyze both concepts in a comparative perspective, showing their reciprocal differences and similarities.
