Summary/Abstract: The theatrical praxis of the last decade could be titled as a “turning point of the reality”. The theatrical praxis based on the reflection of the social and political environment is confronted with forms of documentary theatre and adapts and transforms them according to ever-changing social and cultural contexts, concepts of the perception of the world and its reality. The paradigm of postmodernism is being changed by the theories of post-postmodernism, metamodernism, or new realism (López and Potter, Vermeulen, and akker), and the aesthetics of performativism and performativity (Eshelman) could be traced in the theatrical activities. Aesthetics of performativity based on the self-referentiality of the subject and the object (Fischer-Lichte) enables direct perception of the scenic “representation” and the expression similar to realistic aesthetics. New realism is based not on the mimesis of the reality, but on the reality of performers and spectators, which is (re)created by body and image / media. This new reality enables to discuss both about realism of theatrical / scenic representation and about the realism of perception as transforming experience.
