Summary/Abstract: The Tatar family was an educational environment for successive generations. Its educational influence was essential in the process of the preservation of their own individuality. Tatar families acted according to basic functions, which have stayed the same for centuries, only their significance and stress could change depending on economic, social, and cultural changes influencing the family environment. The aim of the following article is an analysis of Tatar families as a basic educational environment being a basis of preservation of cultural and religious differences of Tatar communities. That question will be presented by showing main problems and difficultiesin the family transfer and proposals of counteraction against educational dysfunctionin Tatar families in the interwar period, i.e. in the years 1918–1939.
