Summary/Abstract: The study debates the idea of diary as being an important way of soul and phisical salvation in what concerns the work of a canonical writer, Mircea Nedelciu. His last novel, Zodia scafandrului, proves to be a „novel for the memory”, one which acts as a playground, a way of self-saving, and also a way of expressing the author’s believes and disagreement with the communist view. The micro-realism of the novel is highly sensitive to the author’s perception about life and also to the aspects of the communist society. The two perspectives are set to be explored by making use of the writing process and also of the reading process in a fictional and also a non-fictional area.
