Summary/Abstract: This paper intends to study the level of the intellectual development of French‑speaking preadolescents and adolescents from 11 to 15 years old and from four different ethnic groups in order to investigate their abilities to understand the phenomenon of global warming. The empirical studies proved that despite the growing tendency in the level of the intellectual development for older children from different ethnic groups, it is obvious that the level of understanding of the physical phenomenon is still very low.
