Summary/Abstract: The reasons why Zbigniew Pietrasiński (1926-2010) attributed an exceptional personality-forming value to a personal (intimate) diary are discussed in this article. The contents of the lengthy Computer Diary which had been written by Pietrasiński since 1991 became the object of the analysis.
