Summary/Abstract: Within the opus of post-war, post-canonical Bosniac literature and the emergence of a specific stream already commonly referred to as war letters (Kazaz 2012) or poetic memories (Kodrić 2012), we are witnessing the existence of a distinct branch which in its utter diversity of genre or culturallymemorial perspective is recognized as Srebrenica text. Thus the subject of Srebrenica tragedy develops from the first novel of Isnam Taljić and Mirsad Mustafić further through poetic-commemorative discourse of Srebrenica Inferno by Džemaludin Latić, then poems dedicated to the victims of Srebrenica that came from the pens of Abdulah Sidran and Melika Smailbegović Bosnawi to documentary prose of Emir Suljagić recognised primarily in the testimony Postcard from the grave, and then in his novel Samouk (self-taught). Of the same branch are the memoires of Hasana Nuhanović, symbolically titled Escape (Hasan’s Escape – Road to Srebrenica) for it follows the track of war from incredible survival in mountains to even more unusual arrival to the City under siege, and then facing with all the troubles that are in sociohistorical context generated in the term Srebrenica. This article presents culturally-memorial aspect of Nuhanovićes memoires and attempts to determine convincing places in his prose work (Nora 2006), that make his work artistic, regardless of its evidently documentary orientation. Thus we attempt to eliminate possible confusion regarding its genre (Nuhanović [2012] 2014: 394). We used analytical and interpretative methods in this article.
