Poetic Form, Themes and Motives in Bosniak Lullabies

Summary/Abstract: This paper discusses the poetic forms, themes and motives identified in Bosniak lullabies – oral lyrics shaped in the spiritual and cultural circle of a people. In a short journey through the history of recording of this poetic form, the author underscores the fact that its particular poetic elements drew the attention of local folklorist and thus found itself placed together with other lyrical forms recorded in collections produced between late 19th and late 20th century in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
