Summary/Abstract: Humanitarian actors, such as International Committee of the Red Cross, embolden parties in an armed conflict to encapsulate norms of international humanitarian law within their doctrins, during training sessions of combatants, within their rules of engagement and, for that purpose, furnish support for all the paries involved. Provisions of international humanitarina law may be encompassed in legal documents, such as special agreements, unilateral declarations, codes of conduct, cease fire agreements or peace agreements. The aim of this paper is to highlight the utility, as well as the limitations of adopting such documents.
