Summary/Abstract: “Criticism has talked about Ottlik-cult since the beginning of the eighties, “Mészöly-legend” since the end of the eighties, and Mészöly-cult rather in the recent five-six years” Miklós Mészöly (1921-2001) and Géza Ottlik (1912 -1990), significant Hungarian writers of the late twentieth century whose work was fundamental for the renewal of Hungarian prose hall-marked by Péter Esterházy and Péter Nádas. The study surveys the cultical phrases of criticism about them.
