Summary/Abstract: Addressing to a heterogeneous public, who has various skills for decoding the journalistic message, Eminescu’s journalistic discourse reveals careful selections of the means of expression. The choosing of the discursive ways is dictated, primarily, by the accessibility of them: from this perspective, it can be distinguished two categories within Eminescu’s publishing texts: on the one hand – specialised ones (as studies, economic analysis, presentation of political theory etc.), and on the other hand – vulgar ones (as notes, accounts meeting in Parliament, political glosses/comments etc.). The paremiological examples appeal is more common in the second category of texts, where the journalist tries to make accessible the abstract contents and concepts in order to be understood by the readers. This work aims at presenting some of the pragmatic valences entailed by paremiology in Eminescu’s publishing work, based on the examples from the journalistic corpus.
