Summary/Abstract: Our article advances a semiotic approach to Eminescu’s journalistic activity, by assuming at the methodological level the hexadic model of situational analysis, developed by the logician Petru Ioan. The choice for a semiotic analysis of Eminescu’s journalism – as a product of a historical and determined epoch, but also as a reflection of the journalist belief/vision on the realities of his time, is motivated, on one hand, by the methodological potential of semiotics that favors the interrelation of all parameters of communication situation and, on the other hand, by the necessity to correlate Eminescu’s journalistic language to the specificity of the time that generated it. As a fact of signification/ resignification and communication through signs, Eminescu’s journalistic activity is suitable to a situational analysis to the extent that involves a set of relationships between the journalist and the articles’ receivers, is generated by a particular socio-historical context, uses particular techniques of signification and follows certain finalities.
