Summary/Abstract: The management of a knowledge economy represents a challenge for every state, because the knowledge economy is the foundation of the modern state. The state must manage science and technology through its institutions if it wants to create a good foundation for the development of its society. Finland is considered as one of the most successful states when it comes to the management of the knowledge economy. Through an analysis of the Finnish model of knowledge economy management, the authors examined the institutional-forms of cooperation, based on the strategic commitment to the establishment and development of the knowledge economy. The Finnish model of knowledge economy management can be the basis for the creation of adequate national models with respect to the specifics of each state.
