Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to present the perspective of the study on the relationship between the university and the wider area of practice in terms of cognitive consumerism, which is both the problem and the solution coming from the interior of the so-called dispositif of knowledge society. I develop the concept of dispositif of knowledge society, proposed by Marek Czyżewski, indicating new analytical categories. I justify heuristic and analytical potential of the research on university, the consumption of scientific knowledge and the production of its “utility” through the prism of law mechanisms, discipline and safety. An important part of the article is a reflection on the imperative of the knowledge society in a competitive market.
