Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses the semantic complexity of the notions of “freedom of conscience and religion” and “freedom of conscience and religious denomination.” In order to describe the semantic potential of both terms, the emotive value of such words as “freedom”, “conscience”, “religion”, “denomination” and the nouns related to “conscience” (“conviction” and “consciousness”), as well as to “religion” (“worldview”) is analyzed.
