Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the question of using news websites in teaching German as a foreign language to students of German philology. The article encourages reflection on the usefulness of texts available on-line as teaching materials and presents some practical solutions aimed at developing speaking skills at an advanced level of proficiency in a foreign language.
