Summary/Abstract: One Thousand and One Nights and colorful paintings are found in many texts in the twentieth century. The East pushes the artist to write the text by moving from me to another dimension of the personality, while learning to write. Analysis of persian names in Combray lets us see the ‘metaphorical awakening’ provoked in the protagonist trying to make a transition between the eastern and western world. We will observe the transposition from one identity to another and see the birth of a poetics of travel and " return to the sources " at the beginning of the saga. We particularly look at the feelings of the narrator and the transposition of images and their influences on Combray. For this purpose, we first consider the formation of Esther and names of Guermantes. Then we will see through the secret plates of the Arabian Nights first couples Esther / Xerxes then Schahriar / Scheherazade and finally Balbec.
