Summary/Abstract: When a child is born deaf or when a healthy child loses hearing as a result of disease or physical injury – world of the child and his closest definitely changes. In such a case the family should be provided with specialist support, keeping in mind the positive role of sign language in the education of deaf children. The family and the child which has been affected by a particular disfunction, should be supported by teams consisting of specialists in various fields. To relive the whole family from strong stress of raising the child which is deaf, they should be provided with an effective tool for bilingual and bicultural rising the child.
