Summary/Abstract: e article shows actions which accompanied the social division in towns e.g. Kraków, Nowy Sącz, Krosno and Wojnicz. It is based on the posthumous inventories containing registers of movables. e inventories are re‚ections of property status of townspeople, which is shown in the table. Statistical data in the table have been arranged according to the division of the inhabitants into groups – the richest, moderately wealthy and poor. e people’s gender has also been taken into consideration. e sources of information have been commented and completed in the text dealing with diƒerent aspects of material culture as an inherent part of townspeople everyday life.
