Summary/Abstract: Crisis is a kind of trial for corporate entities that are trying their best to cope with the rising difficulties of an economic nature. This extraordinary situation reveals hitherto unexplored link between social capital and the economy. This article is an attempt to explain the nature and direction of the relations between social capital and the financial and economic crisis. The study was based on literature studies and the analysis of financial data and ratings provided by the company that evaluates companies for corporate social responsibility. Beginning of the article is to present the essence of social capital and the benefits that can be achieved with that. Trust, which is the most important component of social capital, was characterized in the second part. Its functions and types were presented. Then, a two-way relation between financial and economic crisis and social capital was described. Firstly, the author tried to answer the question: what impact does trust have on the economic crisis? Secondly, he talked about how to build lasting relations with stakeholders affected by the economic situation of enterprises. Proposals were presented in the last part of the article.
