Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes the professionalization of the armed forces in the EU. The authors discuss the professionalization of the Polish Armed Forces. Definitions of rights and obligations of the soldiers in the historical aspect are presented. Then the Authors take into account the problems of present military service. They analyze the current regulations in national law and EU law with regard to criminal law in particular. As the conclusion the Authors suggest the best solutions (in their opinion) which should be introduced into internal law in the context of Polish Army services.
