Methodology of empirical research into legal aid. The present state and development prospects

Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses methods of empirical research on public legal aid, used outside of Poland. It ocuses on paths to justice methodology, which since late 1990 has been used in few dozen studies around the world. While stressing many advantages of this approach, the paper also points at its limitations and possibilities of further development. In summing up, it indicates the need of completing similar studies in Poland.
