Summary/Abstract: This paper looks at the life and work of Paul Kisch (1883–1944), the literary historian, critic and journalist and older brother of Egon Erwin Kisch. The study draws mostly on primary sources including published letters, articles, and books. At the center of this study is an analysis of Kisch’s connections to German and Austrian politicians and writers from the 1910’s to 1930’s, as well as of his Jewish position and loyalty to the German nationalist community to which he himself belonged.
