Summary/Abstract: The change in the coalition government, taking over the Ministry of ForeignAffairs by a Social Democrat, or an approach to economic policy which differs fromthat of the Christian Democrats: none of them have led or will lead, also in the longrun, to significant transformations in Germany’s external policy. It has been and itshall remain the function of economic interests of the state, both in the EU and outside, primarily due to the lack of alternatives. The leadership formula, loyal to NATOand the EU, but not ready to take more political responsibility, brought measurablebenefits to Germany in 2014. Therefore, as far as possible, this is unlikely to changealso in 2015.
