Summary/Abstract: The recommendation of the Council of europe is that the laws and regulations relating to access to public archives should be coordinated and in compliance with the laws relating to similar issues, especially those referring to the questions of access to information stored in public administration and the questions of data protection. What is the situation in Croatia and how consistent are the laws and regulations relating to the protection of personal data, the availability of information and archival regulations? Considering the fact that there are many inconsistencies in laws that are not from related areas, which laws and regulations should be applied and according to which regulations to act in certain situations.
