Summary/Abstract: The habitation conditions are very important component of the quality assessment and the standard of living. Their forming plays significant role in case of building and development of urban functional areas. The main aim of this article is to identify spatial diversification of living conditions in urban functional areas in Poland. Research concern on 2013 year and are spreading through all functional areas of Poland formed around provincial centres. Analysis is based on the taxonomical distance from model Hellwig metod. In particular spatial layout: urban functional areas as wholes, central sites but outside zones of functional areas, and in the local layout. Results show high dependence level of living conditions on the city size and their position in the layout of agglomerative units. Moreover, the large part of functional areas wasn’t proportionally formed in terms of conditions of settling. Besides, the biggest part of functional areas is characterized by a concentric layout of conditions of habitation – their level is the highest in central units, and as farther from them, the level is lower.
