Social welfare – methodological and definitional problems

Summary/Abstract: The problems of social welfare during the years has gained popularity as a subject of analysis and scientific studies in the social sciences and as well as an interesting issue for journalists. For obvious reasons this has created several definitional and methodological problems. Despite the years it still has not resulted in creating specific, universal consensus in the field of common definition and measurement. This study aims to discuss and critically analyze definitions and measures of social welfare. In order to implement the aim the author shall make an analysis of the literature and empirical studies found in specialized studies and research.
