Historical Novel As an Autobiography (about the novel “Bestseller” by J.Davydov)

Summary/Abstract: This article deals with the analyses of the genre features of the novel “Bestseller” by J. Davydov, which make possible to characterize this novel as autobiographical and historical one. The specific character of the chronotope of J. Davydov’ s novel is determined by the fact that the author by neutralizing the expression of category of time emphasizes the importance of category of space. One of the basic manifestations of space accent is considered the appearance of different historical personages of different periods in the novel. This article presents the analyses of literary and linguistic ways of expression that allow the author through personal retelling to show the essence of historical time and by this to prove the cyclic character of the former.
