Summary/Abstract: The article deals with tendencies of the regional distribution of the Russian language in Lithuania with regard to the influence of the Lithuanian, Polish and Byelorussian languages. The linguistic contacts of the languages are analysed at phonetic level and in various spheres of the Russian language use. Phonetics is considered to be a stable system of the language, however the surrounding languages can cause a certain influence which appears in specific pronounciation forms. Their selection and consolidation in the language are conditioned by communicative purposefulness. The particularities of pronounciation, accent and intonation of the Russian language in Lithuania are considered in this article.
