Innovations from the Viewpoint of Intercultural Communication (on the Material of the Lithuanian Russian)

Summary/Abstract: The article studies regionai innovations as a cultural specific component in the situation of intercultural communication. Material for study is the Russian language of Lithuania during the last decennaries. Sources of the research are language of the mass media, as well as living spoken language. Innovations analysed in the paper are stipulated by influence of the Lithuanian language. The considered innovations reflect Lithuanian realities, social and political as well as life changes within the considered period. Such innovations are first of all stipulated by communicative relevance and communicative convenience. Communicative significance of such words is important for their normative evaluation as well. The innovations in the language of Lithuanian Russians are an evidence of natural orientation towards the Lithuanian society and Lithuanian culture in the situation of intercultural interaction.
