Summary/Abstract: The present article researches the switching code phenomenon, having as objective the classification of motivations and presentation of the social, psychological and linguistic context which led to its emergence within the Romanian colonies from Spain. The study is based on the analysis of the discussions of Romanians living in Spain, on one of their dedicated forums with a participation of over 50 Romanians.
