Rumañol - a Peripheral Idiom

Summary/Abstract: The present study emphasizes some aspects of Rumañol, the Romanian language spoken in Spain, in relation to the norms of the standard Romanian language. Simultaneous with the economic Romanian emigration to Spain after 1995, the Romanian language spoken by the immigrants suffered essential transformations visible at all the levels of the language, that is why we will consider Romanian immigrants’ manner of expression as a peripheral one, permanently contrasting it with the centre – the Romanian language spoken in Romania.
