Summary/Abstract: The most tragic event after the second world war in the history of the German ethnic group in Romania, was their deportation in the former Soviet Union for compulsory labour. This ment not only a great social and economical loss for the whole country, but first of all for the Germans as minority. Tabooed during the communism, today it is more and more discussed about and searched for it. Today it is possible to commemorate the victims and to do the survivors the necessary honour.k
